FUNcube-1 Dashboard ready for action !!!

FUNcube Dashboard was tested with audio files and Funcube dongle pro+
it was so easy and very interesting comp nation of  SDR+DECODER in single package!!
The software setup was described very well at the manual .
Yes you need to read all the 32 pages please.
Now its ready and waiting for action .
FUNcube Dashboard is a great software .the  programming  effort was so obvious.
it need  more fine touches  eg push button to capture the audio.or stop and play et

One repeated problem was noticed . ie the software crushed every time the help icon clicked!! .
I;ve used the new version .

Another nice software was tested ,the KySat-2 decoder from Space Systems Lab,
University of Kentucky, ie decode packets from KySat-2 .
KySat-2 need a hardware TNC - tested here with Kantronics 9612 plus.
I thing it may works too via some other sofware-tnc and virtual audio/data loops.

Media!
2 nice images from ICube-1 and UNISAT-1 during integration on the payload bay of the Dnepr Launch Vehicle.

PocketQubes: Even Smaller Than a CubeSat

PocketQubes: Even Smaller Than a CubeSat

Over one hundred CubeSats have been launched by hundreds of organizations and universities from around the globe. These have proven very useful in technology demonstration, Earth imaging, and other applications. There is, however, one large downside to the CubeSat platform. Even though it is designed to hitch a ride on launches of larger satellites, they’re still very expensive to develop and launch – somewhere between $60,000 and $125,000.
PocketQubes are a new design of satellite that bring the cost of personal satellites down to what Universities and amateur radio enthusiasts can actually afford. Instead of spending $125k on a 10cm cube CubeSat, the PocketQube, a 5cm cube, can be launched to a 700 km orbit for about $20,000.
Already, four PocketQubes are scheduled for launch in November to a 700km solar synchronous orbit,
  • Eagle1 (USA)
  • Eagle2 (USA)
  • WREN (Germany)
  • QBScout (USA)
The WREN a very impressive PocketQube with 3-axis reaction wheels and plasma thrusters.

Four PocketQubes including WREN will be launched aboard a Dnepr 1A multi-satellite rocket launch on 21st November from the Yasniy-Dombarovskiy launch site in Russia.  The three other PocketQube spacecraft being launched are two US student satellites, Eagle-1 (Beakersat-1) and QubeScout-S, built by Morehead State University and University of Maryland respectively,  and the Eagle-2 (50-Dollarsat) built by ham radio enthusiasts. - See more at: http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/hyperbola/2013/10/cubesats-are-so-last-year-now-smaller-pocketqubes-could-be-next-big-thing/#sthash.FhuIrrg6.dpuf

UNISAT-5 and its payloads

UNISAT-5 and its payloads The upcoming launch of UNISAT-5 satellite, boarded on the Dnepr rocket and scheduled on November 21 from Yasny cosmodrome in Russia, will mark an historical event in the world of CubeSats and nanosatellites.
GAUSS srl will release into orbit:
 four CubeSats:
  • PUCP-Sat-1 (Perù)
  • ICUBE-1 (Pakistan)
  • HUMSAT-D (Spain)
  • Dove-4 (USA)
and four PocketQubes:
  • Eagle1 (USA)
  • Eagle2 (USA)
  • WREN (Germany)
  • QBScout (USA)
from the UNISAT-5 satellite, launched by the Dnepr rocket.

The following facts reveal the significance of this event:

  • First launch of Cubesats and PocketQubes from another nanosatellite
  • First launch of PocketQubes ever
  • First Peruvian satellites, PUCP-Sat-1 and PocketPUCP-Sat (that will be released from PUCP-Sat-1)
  • First test of Pulsed Plasma Thruster on a picosatellite (WREN by Sta.do.Ko)
In the last week, the Cubesats and Pocketqubes were integrated on board the UNISAT-5, inside the PEPPOD (the GAUSS’ PPOD) and MRFOD (designed by Morehead State University, KY, USA, in collaboration with GAUSS Srl) deployers.
